They have participated in several Leading Projects for Urban Upgrading Plans commissioned by National Institutions and the Government. All of these Pilot Projects where assembled with the communities in the Barrios of Caracas and the other main cities in Venezuela. Supplying with infrastructure and services like the ‘Pedestrian Connections and Vertical Access System’ for the Barrio La Vega. They have also produced social housing projects, community centers and sports amenities, developed within a vertical scheme as industrial fittings that would optimize the space and adjust to multiple programs. Examples of this would be the ‘Casa Comunal de La Vega’ (1st Prize. X National Architecture Biennial) and the ‘Gimnasio Vertical de Chacao’, recently built as part of the Special Projects initiated by the Municipality of Chacao in Caracas as a progressive investment for the construction of public areas in the city.
The Pinto’s have also created projects and installations as art pieces, graphic and industrial design such as the Venezuela Pavilion in the Expo’98 Lisbon, Portugal (special guest in the IX National Architecture Biennial) where architecture was fused with multimedia contents.
Their work has been exhibit and published in national and international shows and reviews, like PRAXIS Journal (Architecture after Capitalism, Issue 5, NY) and The Architectural League of New York website (Worldview: Caracas) among others. And art - architecture shows such as ‘Caracas Contingencia: Laboratorio Ciudad’, ‘Bienal de Arte de La Habana’ and in ‘Panorama Emergente’ at the IV Latin-American Architecture Biennial of Lima, Peru. The Pinto’s have been invited as guest speakers at events in Venezuela and abroad, such as the debate Habitar, in the past XIV Pan-American Architecture Biennial in Quito, Ecuador.
As guest professors they have contributed with the major Schools of Architecture in Venezuela. Recently they where invited to join other architecture studios form Hispano-America to develop ideas and proposals online for the project titled ‘Metamorfosis’ of Museo Extremeño e Iberoamericano de Arte Contemporaneo MEIAC, in Badajoz, Spain.
